The idea of the Trinkuhr, a "happy drinking reminder", has been a project of OLSEN Innovationsgesellschaft, Ideen - und Projektentwicklungen for a while. However, before the last step of the project’s implementation, inventor and business man Sven Olsen stuck to his principles and “raised the bar” as this project should only start with the right partners in an environment which can make "the little sip" – regular drinking as prerequisite for health, fitness, and good ideas – a national if not international movement. The contact to the health experts of BARMER, one of Germany’s leading health insurance companies, formed a strong starting point from which this aim will be achieved. Motivating people to lead a healthier life, and showing people that health and fitness also mean quality of life, is one of the major objectives of the BARMER health experts.

On the product side, for the project we could win OTTO International GmbH, a subsidiary of Otto group, which is active worldwide and is responsible for organisation of the complete supply chain and the manufacture.

TRINKUHR GmbH was founded INDEPENDENT OF BANKS. TRINKUHR GmbH has provided for the complete investment and organised the overall business process. Sven Olsen is investor and associate. Mr Karsten Schachne, an experienced industry manager and consultant, is the director. TRINKUHR GmbH benefits from Mr Schachne’s long years of experience as a responsible manager for European business with MOTOROLA.
